Dear All,

       Thank you so much for welcoming me so warmly to the office.Even though I didn't always understand everything you spoke in the office, I felt very happy in the office and I think I could work well.

        It was very nice to spend time with you during lunch and dinner and I enjoyed the conversations I had with some of you-it gave me some better understanding about your life,your work, your culture...,learning about these things is very important when you go abroad-I very much hope that all of you will get the chance to travel abroad during your studies or after.It really is an amazing opportunity!!

       I wish all of you all the best for continuing your studies successfully-I know work life is not easy in China,but you're smart and (too) hard-working,so you'll manage.

Dear All,

      I have arrived safely back in Cambridge and have started work here again.In some way it feels similar to Tongji-I hear a lot of Chinese language around me (there are many Chinese students in my office here as well),but it's not you guys!It was very hard for me when I said good-bye on my last day in the office -probbly the most difficult moment when I walked out,as I had a really nice time with you and I know it won't be the same again (even if I may visit in the future).

      I will keep these 3 months at Shanghai in very good memory-I have met all of you,I have experoenced work and life at TOngji and I have seen some very nice places in and around Shanghai.Thanks very much to all of you for helping me to settle and welcoming in your group so warmly-it really made a difference to me!

     I wish you all the best in the culture -which I know is quite tough in China-but you are all smart and hard-working,so I'm sure you'll do well!

     I hope to see you again!
